In 2007 Credit Unions in the Adirondack Chapter raised
$13,561 to benefit Children’s programs at
Saratoga Care,
Glens Falls Hospital, and Sunnyview Rehabilitation
Hospital
and Seton Health (Troy).
With the generosity of our members Saratoga's Community
FCU was able to contribute $3,950 to the overall
total.
Credit Unions Care for
Kids is a statewide community involvement program of the
New York State Credit Union League (NYSCUL) and its goal
is to raise money for children’s hospitals and pediatric
units throughout New York State. The campaign is in
keeping with the credit union movement’s philosophy of
“people helping people.” The donations to the healthcare
organizations will help support the following pediatric
services:
• Glens
Falls Hospital funds will be used for the Pediatric
Friendly Task Force.
•
Saratoga Care’s proceeds will benefit the Clowns on
Rounds program.
•
Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital’s support will be used
to purchase two Nintendo Wii Systems, televisions and
stands and the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor
Proficiency (BOT2) to measure gross and fine motor
skills.
Fundraising was conducted throughout the year and included
selling “Clarence the Cow” terry cloth dolls, candy bars,
mugs, hats, raffle drawings, lobby coin drops and business
donations. Also, some credit union employees made
donations to “dress-down” for a day at work.
Since the program began in 1998, credit unions from the
Southern Chapter have donated a total of $93,406 to
benefit area pediatric programs.
Thank you for all your support!
